Volunteers Make it Happen!
The Pikes Peak Blues Community (PPBC) is gearing up to make 2007 the
best year yet for our members, musicians, Blues lovers and music fans!
Of course, all of the PPBC events are made possible through the efforts
of our volunteers – the PPBC needs your help to support our
mission of ‘enhancing the vitality of blues and American roots
music by supporting live performance and education’. Check out
how many ways there are for you to get involved!
Interested in volunteering or want more information? Please e-mail membership@PikesPeakBlues.org or call (719) 685-1861 x 42.
Positions Needed:
Volunteer Lead
Manage the PPBC merchandise booth by commiting to volunteer a 3-4 hour
shift at four or more of our summer events. Since Volunteer Leaders are
taking on more responsibility than other volunteers, the PPBC would
also ask these individuals to make themselves available for a training
session in April or May 2007.
Volunteers to work the merchandise booth,
collect e-mail addresses, donations, meet the crowd and hand out
literature at events Individuals can commit to as little as one 3-4
shift at one event or multiple events! Help the volunteer lead sell
merchandise, then “work the crowd” to tell people about the
PPBC, our upcoming events, hand out PPBC literature, collect their
e-mail addresses for their free subscription to the Blues News
eNewsletter, collect donations, and lend a hand as the opportunities
arrive. Easy and fun!
Volunteers to distribute posters/flyers for PPBC events
Individuals who have time and means of transportation to cover an area
of town with PPBC event posters/flyers.
Volunteers to help load in / load out band equipment and hang up banners and set up the merchandise booth
Individuals can commit for as little as one event, or at as many events
as they would like! Times needed would be from 3:30-5:30pm and/or
7:30-8:30pm at the Thursday “Paint the Town Blue” concerts,
and other upcoming concerts as needed. Stay for both shifts, or chose
whichever one works best for your schedule! Strong backs needed!
Volunteers to make phone calls
Individuals who have time to make calls and can be friendly and
outgoing on the telephone needed to keep us connected to our other
volunteers and update the PPBC databases, and other calling
opportunities. Can do this from home!
Volunteers to write press releases, concert reviews, etc.
Individuals who have a talent and interest in writing articles for the
Blues News eNewsletter as well as writing press releases on PPBC events
for the local newspapers and other media to publish and promote the
event. Not required that individuals doing the writing have access to
e-mail, but it would really help if they did!
Volunteers for Web Site and Graphic Design
Individuals with the equipment, experience and time to help the PPBC
keep our website up-to-date, improve the look of our graphics, and help
with graphic design for event posters and e-mailings.
