Pikes Peak Blues Community was founded in 2003 by a group of loyal and dedicated music lovers. Amy Whitesell and Carrie Goodman initiated programming with Paint the Town Blue, Celebration of Our Next Generation, National Act Concerts and many collaborative efforts with local business and other non-profits. Their boundless ideas, energy and enthusiasm along with the support of members, bands and businesses during the first two years launched Pikes Peak Blues Community. Today, Pikes Peak Blues Community operates as a (501)c3 non-profit with an active and committed board of directors and numerous key volunteers who work hard to make sure our mission is gets accomplished.

Debbi Patterson, Emily Pearson, Carrie Goodman, Laura Hibbitts

President- Carrie Goodman (Realtor) loves to get down!
"Spontaneous outbreaks of music, dance and fun make giving to this organization a joy. Working to give for musicians the opportunity to develop diverse opportunities out in the greater community entertainment, finding partners hip to engage music in new ways, supporting efforts to pass music traditions on to Our Next Generation have been only a few of the fruits of our efforts!"

Secretary- Lynette Reagan
A health educator by day and GED teacher by night enjoys listening to the blues!  She has supported PPBC events and blues festivals across the country for four years.  As chairperson of the Education Committee, she is working with area schools to design blues and roots music curriculum for all grades

Treasurer--Debbi Patterson is a long-term resident of Colorado Springs and brings twenty years business experience to the Pikes Peak Blues Community. She has extensive experience working with businesses in different industries in the areas of accounting, human resources and organizational management. Her love of blues music and a desire to give back to her community led her to join the Pikes Peak Blues Community.

Bob Henderson (Engineer, Business Leader, Musician) Bob loves music and the people that love music.  He enjoys the creative experiences; one of a kind times of it all coming together in a magical collision of discovery beyond previous boundaries. Bob wants to keep the spirit in the music alive and growing into broader acceptance and knowledge of our heritages that will bind us all as brothers and sisters.

Gabrielle Jenko is a busy insurance lady by day and a blues enthusiast by night and week-ends! She truly loves to interact in the community and she shows her warm and friendly people skills every time she sells PPBC items at the events and at various blues festivals around the state.

Emily Pearson got involved with the PPBC because... how could she not! She plays in a band, has been interested in learning more about singing and playing blues, and the background of blues music. She believes that you make things happen by being involved and volunteering. When not playing music or recruiting new members to PPBC, she is a sales associate with American Furniture Warehouse.

Mark Wallick joined the board of directors of the Pikes Peak Blues Community to get more involved in his favorite genre of music, The Blues. Since the PPBC is an all volunteer organization, Mark felt he could help to promote the music he loves while giving back to the community. He plays bass guitar and enjoys playing at the PPBC Blues Jams. Mark is a Realtor Broker employed at The Platinum Group Realtors.

Laura Hibbitts
Laura Hibbitts has spent 25 years working deep in the Blues. She's a true “Jack-of-All-Trades” in the music world from managing Tipitinas in New Orleans, to Antones "Home of the Blues" in Austin Texas. She has managed concerts, conventions, festivals and many other music events. Moving to Colorado Springs in 2003 has just brought her into a different dimension of promoting and enjoying the blues.
